Our Host Hotel is the Embassy Suites Hotel San Luis Obispo, where every room is a two-room suite. Reservations will open on Wednesday, December 16th at 3:00 p.m. PACIFIC TIME. Specialty dates are Oct. 1-8, 2010. The hotel is located across the street from the show site at Laguna Lake Park. (Please note, there is a large shopping mall parking lot and a heavily traveled roadway to cross to get to the Park entrance.) Room rates are $149 plus tax per night and include a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast and a manager’s evening reception each day. Rates for three and four people are $159 and $169 plus tax, respectively. Each suite has refrigerator and microwave.

In accordance with PWDCA requirements, first and last night’s lodging fees will be applied to your credit card at the time the reservation is made. A maximum of two rooms per credit card or household may be reserved. If more than two rooms are reserved by a household, they can be canceled by the Specialty Committee. Refunds will only be granted for cancellations or changes to a reservation made before July 23, 2010. As of July 23, 2010 the balance due on your reservation will be charged to your credit card and no refunds will be available. There is a maximum of 4 dogs per room and a refundable deposit of $100 will be applied to all rooms with pets.

Please read the terms carefully as they incorporate the PWDCA new hotel reservation policies. Please also note that although the standard hotel wording includes 24 hour cancellation - the PWDCA policy on the opening page supersedes that standard hotel language. Also, September 30 is the Thursday that precedes water set-up and practice. Tracking and the water trial begin on October 1 - Friday. The culmination of the Specialty is Friday, October 8 with BOB and the Awards Banquet. Look for the schedule on this PWDCA Specialty site.

You may make reservations for any days during the block from 9/30 through 10/9, and a few more days one either side in case you have an opportunity to enjoy the Central Coast for a bit longer!

ALTERNATE HOTEL

The Best Western Royal Oak Hotel also has a block of rooms reserved for our Specialty attendees. Please contact the hotel for applicable rates. Rooms in the block will be held until September 4th, at which time any remaining rooms will be released and reservations will be available on a space-available basis only. A charge of one night’s lodging fee plus tax will be charged for reservations not canceled by 3 p.m. the day prior to arrival. This hotel is on the same side of the street as the Park entrance; the distance into the Park is considerable. Each room has a refrigerator and microwave and there is a complimentary breakfast in the lobby.

We encourage you to reserve your room early for the 2010 PWDCA National Specialty. Sunset Magazine will be hosting a full weekend of exciting events ("Savor the Central Coast") the same weekend as our Specialty begins. Therefore hotel rooms will be hard to come by once Sunset begins its promotion in early January.
